« van halentine's day | Main | day #16 »
rory- lost it- "halfway home and i'm already exhausted. so i wrote this song about it."
aidan- hey hermano- "when you don't really have time to change the world with your song, just throw in clips from your favorite tv show. okay, i will!"
chris- satellite of love (lou reed cover)- "Clearly I'm the only contributor to this thing with any intention of taking the weekly cover allowance. Ultimately, I probably make a better fan than artist. I think this is one of the greatest songs ever written. My version, here, draws from both Lou Reed's version on Transformer and an old Velvet Underground demo I have. Also, I really went crazy with the "Chorus" effect."
jon- more than everything- It appears jon had a major computer breakdown (or should i say juicedown?) tonight, but still managed to get this song to me in an email (or should I say juice-mail?).
trevor-wave to me- "I couldn't come up with anything, for the life of me. Then, with a half hour left, this came out."
raison- spin- "I wanted to go for something a little different tonight with a clean guitar sound and with more "happy" energy."
No comments today? What gives? I didn't have time to listen to anyone's tracks before I left the house this morning, so I guess I don't really have any comments to make, either. Except this one, which is sort of a meta-comment.
yeah, what gives. we're halfway there now, and we just need to coast in to the finish.

We just have to phone it in from here on out! Our place in the pantheon of marathon musicianship is already written in stone! Only fourteen more days of stress and creative anxiety left!

team, i'm sensing that morale is low, anxieties high, and creative juices running at a trickle.
have faith! listen the rock we put out today! f*cking unbelievable! i think this is one of the best days yet.
rory, see what kind of art comes of misery and frustration? brilliant!
aidan, your creativity comes from someplace infinite by which we're all baffled. you are the key master and the gate keeper.
swish, this is your best yet, in a close, close, close second to hoboken is burning.
jon, i love your range, but nothing compares to this nojon-only sound. classic, raw, rock.
raison, if i didn't know any better, i'd think you were a closet stp and maroon 5 fan. regardless, how aptly named your songs are! beautifully done, as always.
keep the rock.

haha, I LOVE STP, they're one of my favorite bands of all time. Unfortunately they haven't really done much since their paper heart album, but their earlier work will always be some of my favorite pop music ever. (Esp Plush)
I'm feelin like we're over the hump now as well and all we gotta do is keep doin what we've been doin! Not too hard I think, now it's time for everyone to produce some crazy shit. Lets hear a song made of animal noises! lol
I'm gonna be working on a tool sound tonight so I'm lookin forward to how that will sound.
Aidan, I like the quiet breaks in your song and I also like the synth in the background with the rez filter running on it.
Rory, your bass line makes me think of "my girl" lol, dont' die on us Rory! Even though it'd be cool... Rocked to death! Can't be too bad of a way to go. ;)
Jon, I like the fast triplets in your rhythm guitar. I have a piano student that will love the stuff you do I think. I gave him the link so hopefully he'll make a comment or two.
Cool trev, this is the first slow instrumental I've heard you do. I like it. Nice to hear you using some orchestration. Well done!

Stay strong, boys. Give blood for rock. The people are counting on you. The people don't have a clue what a rotoscope is but they want one. The lucey boys were on fire today... lovely meta-musical lyricism and instant favorites on the button iTunes playlist...
And re: Van Halentine's Day -- I laughed. I cried. It was better than stone temple pilots.
