rory- please come back- "usually, pieces of art born out of dreams turn to straight rubbish. but i had the first two lines in my head when i woke up, so i ran with it. earlier this year i woke up and knew all the words to "I'm a pretender" by the exploding hearts, having only listened to their album maybe three times. that was pretty cool, too."
aidan- sangria- "phil and i went to a sangria party last night, and while i didn't really drink too much, i was sort of feeling it today. i'd like to give a shout out to karen and dennis, our gracious hosts, and my boy krenzke j, who provided inspiration. holla back."
chris- headache (frank black cover)- "This is from teenager of the year. I just bought the album pretty recently, but it's an instant "where have you been all my life" classic. Frank Black has a real distinctive voice, and it's hard for me to avoid doing an "impression" of him while doing a track like this. Hopefully I succeeded in avoiding such, cause I think a good cover shouldn't just be an impression...."
jon- Don't Go Down That Alley, Rusty James- "The song is called "Don't Go Down That Alley, Rusty James" and it has to do with the movie "Rumble Fish" with Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke."
trevor-triceratops- "One free hour this morning, and this is all it yielded. Simple, short, and probably boring, it's all that came out. It is, however, still a rock anthem for my favorite dinosaur of all time. I'll make up for it later in the week."
raison- the cave man dance- "Ugga! UGGA darga! Ung!"
we are holding strong after 20 songs. 8 days to go. we can do it. a pretty good day here as well. let's see some comments people. go!
trevor and raison think with one brain! really, you guys are sounding awfully similar today. still, nice work. aidan, tight as ever. i really feel the nancy sinatra vibe here. chris, another solid cover. i'll have to check out the album. jon, very cool. my favorite from today and the best blurb of 'em all. cool cool, all you rockers.

That Frank Black song (both Chris' cover and the original) is amazing. Seriously.

hey charlie, that wouldn't be you laughing in the background of 4500 dollar anti drug song, would it?
Posted by: aidan on February 21, 2005 10:19 AM
Still going strong guys. Excellent cover Chris. Loved yours, Jon. Trevor...you are so wrong. The coolest dinosaur is definitely the camel. toe.
Posted by: reese on February 21, 2005 10:23 AM
the camel toe is extict as well as the best dinosaur, the stegosaurus. rock heil, boys.

Charlie: I agree. I agree I agree I agree.

Aidan: props to you too. I love Sangria. The drink and the song. It reminds me of Graceland-era Paul Simon. And I like that too.
Posted by: Jon (again) on February 21, 2005 03:15 PM
what is this camel toe garbage? reese, what have you done to our comment section?
Posted by: aidan on February 21, 2005 03:25 PM
If you expect less from me, then you don't know me very well.
Posted by: ree on February 21, 2005 05:37 PM
reese, we should call you deefer. that's "d for demerits."
Posted by: Rory on February 21, 2005 05:42 PM
I think it is my voice laughing in chris' drug song. I was totally ripping at Super Mario All-Stars, and there was Swisher yelling into his computer. I mean, like, what the fuck, right? I'm just trying to play some video games is all.
PS: camel-toe is one of the worst terms in the english language, and in strong contention for worst terms world-wide.

aidan - you've got a jazzy little tune here. Love the horn section. Inspired lyrics. Quite the slice of lime... er, life. actually, I really like this song. (and sangria)
jon - this is the best thing since the ramones' "i don't want to go down to the basement." you'd bring down the house in cbgb's.
as for 'headache' ... well, it's no 4500 anti-drug song. but chris: sweet cover.
trevor. You just say that stuff about only having an hour to make yourself look good, right? you actually spent all night kickin' that three prong beat. Praise to the pointy-faced 'saur of inspiration.
raison: this makes a nice pair with Triceratops. I won't tell you how many times I listened to this at work. Nor will I describe the dance. Hey, hoocha.
rory: this, as well as skimmed stones, is what jack o pierce would have been if he wasn't a pussy. strong work. (you're a roller, too, alright)

and personally, I believe 'moose knuckle' is better nomenclature for that particular phenomenon.

everyone stop talking about vaginas. for once. this is a family program.
Posted by: Rory on February 21, 2005 08:08 PM
who could have foreseen that harmony button would emerge from today as the filthiest commenter? totally nutsy.
Posted by: aidan on February 21, 2005 08:57 PM
wha..? is this because I said I liked the horn section? you have a dirty mind, aidan. geeeez.
[editor's note: time to get serious. 5 demerits]

Honored that you wrote a song about the Sangria - I think, though, that the lime incident was from another Sangria party...
