« day #27 | Main | the last day »

rory- worried for my welfare- "this week a measure to unionize one of Wal-Mart's auto-centers failed. so i wrote a song."
aidan- counterfeit dream- "am i going crazy? the verdict is in! it's a brand new wig!"
chris- we're gonna burn this f***** down- i know chris gave me a blurb, but i lost it. it did, however, contain a naughty word, so maybe it's for the best. i also told chris i wouldn't edit his title. guess who's full of lies!
jon- my stingy neighbor- "This song is possibly even stupider than my last one. I had a serious mental cramp. I had never seen Dr. Zhivago at all before tonight... (I watched half of it with my dad) For some reason, I always assumed it was about some mad scientist... little did I know... Anyway. This is about what would happen if he was my neighbor and I still thought he was a mad scientist. I would ask him questions about his inventions and stuff. But he wouldn't know what to say. But I would take it the wrong way and think that he was being reclusive and unneighborly... (unneighborly? eh, whatever)!"
trevor- the urge- took us long enough. sorry about that.
raison- lullaby- "Something nice and soft."

Comments

sorry about the title chris, but i'd hate myself, and you, if we never made it to 'the screensavers' because of your foul mouth. now, someone get me on tv. quick!

Aidan, Why must you make this a house of LIES!?!? Can't it be a house of profanity instead? What's so bad about dropping F-bombs left and right, to and fro, all the live-long day? Nothing, I say!!!

I will not go quietly into the night!!!

god, who invited that guy

Posted by: Jon on February 28, 2005 09:17 AM

Hey swisher: holy shit. i think I have a new theme song.

Posted by: Jon (again) on February 28, 2005 09:18 AM

Jon - after I submitted that song I realized that, with a little tweaking, it could be a BuckKnife song. No problem. We just have to stick "buck" in there somehow.

Posted by: Swisher on February 28, 2005 09:29 AM

Yo! All we have to do is change the chorus to "buck this fucker down" and call the song "You Gonsta Get Bucked DOWN!"

Simple.

Perfect! I'll do up a new version tonight. I'll add some more cursing and profane sexual references in there, too, just to make it as "buckknife-esque" as possible.

Posted by: Swisher on February 28, 2005 12:47 PM

what the swear word are you guys cursing about?

Posted by: aidan on February 28, 2005 01:16 PM

We're talking about BuckKnife, our favorite dirty backwoods blues/grunge band, featuring such hits as "buckfutter," "the buck stops here," "buck and run," "buck you," "buckminster fuller," etc.

Don't forget the classic "You Got 50 Bucks?"

Posted by: Jon on February 28, 2005 02:41 PM

I'm lost on all this buckknife stuff, but i did once confront a redneck tree and a troupe of dueling banjo druids in a d&d game.

comments for the night:

aidan - dammit, man, this is catchy. it's all in the little rises and falls. also, awesome title.

swish - woo, exploiting your 1st amendment rights and making the FCC blush! we don't need no water, let the motherfucker b*rn!

jon - dr zhivago as your neighbour? i had cthulhu as a neighbour once. man, his pad stunk like a manure farm. and given the title of the movie, dr zhivago was a real wuss.

raison - mellowing guitar piece. i don't know how you think these up, but i hate you for it. I wish i was that adept at the guitar to just let it wander and sound like this.

rory - goddamn the corporation, man! everybody's all up in arms that the bush administration's driven the country into the ground, but no one's yet done a good corporate/union protest song. kuds.

trevor - trev... holy shit, man. this song's amazing. like, seriously, this is the best thing i've heard all month long and -- wait, what? it's not up yet? what the f--

so... here's my question. the blurbs page says day 28, the songs all say 27, and it's march 1st... is there one more set of songs coming or is this how it ends?

rockin' stuff, regardless.
